Rent Book for Prospect Place on the Tonbridge Road Wateringbury 1945

Another couple of Rent Books donated by Mike Marchant. This time for his uncle and aunty, Tom and Mabel Walker who lived in Prospect Place on the Tonbridge Road in Wateringbury.

Their first rent book dated 23rd April 1945 when the rent was £1 a week, their second Rent Book where the rent had increased to £1:5 shillings increasing to £1:8:10d (One Pound 8 shillings and 10 old pence) a week. Their Food Ration Books for 1953 -1954 are also shown.

The photo shows the house as it is today. In the 1960's I remember it being a garden shop
